Weatherby's goal during the development phase was to create a factory cartridge which is flat shooting, hard hitting, and of course accurate! Weatherby's Select Plus ammunition places you at the top of the food chain as the apex predator. Weatherby Select Plus ammunition features a reloadable brass case.

Weatherby Select 6.5mm features an exposed lead tip for controlled expansion and hard-hitting terminal performance. The exclusive Hornady InterLock design utilizes a raised ring inside the jacket that is embedded in the bullet's one-piece core that does not separate, which keeps the core and jacket locked together during expansion to retain mass and energy for deeper penetration and larger wound channels, for quick humane kills. The 6.5mm Weatherby RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum) is based on a lengthened version of the existing .284 Winchester. This cartridge has a rebated rim, making it compatible with standard .30-06 Springfield bolt faces and reloading equipment. However, the large body diameter, low body taper, and 35-degree shoulder mean that case capacity is greatly increased, leading to higher velocities, with less drop and wind deflection. This ammunition is built for hunting medium game (50 to 300 lbs) and for hunting large game (300 to 1500 lbs) including elk and mule deer. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.
