Product Overview
Founded in the 19th century, Barnaul Ammunition supplied the Russian army with ammunition during World War I. During World War II, the ammunition plant was evacuated and moved to its current location in Barnaul. Backed by years of manufacturing experience? and battlefield testing, Barnaul Ammunition Company offers a broad range of ammunition for sporting, hunting and personal protection.
This cartridge has a 123 grain FMJ projectile – a bullet that is ideal for target shooting given its smooth-feeding, non-expanding, and overall economical design. The bullet’s jacket is nearly entirely made out of steel, with a copper wash on its exterior to give it a more lustrous sheen. The steel’s too soft to harm an AK’s or SKS’s barrel, although it’s without question going to attract a magnet.
This round’s case is just like its bullet jacket – bimetal, meaning it’s nearly entirely steel with the addition of a thin exterior layer of copper. That copper is poised to ward off corrosion in storage, although the steel beneath it is still no good for handloading.
Barnaul hasn’t made a corrosive primer for many years. This ammo’s Berdan primers won’t blast caustic salts throughout your rifle’s action and barrel to threaten them with corrosion!
